Process is almost Same for both of them. LAT & Law – GAT
LAT is for LLB 5 Years and LAT stands for Law Admission Test
GAT is for LLB 3 Years and GAT stands for Graduate Assessment Test
LAW-GAT means Law Graduate Assessment Test.
Requirements for LAT
(Law Admission TEST)
- Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) or equivalent/grade 12 education
- Bayform / CNIC
- Picture in digital format such as jpg
- Mobile Number to receive HEC codes
- Email Address for HEC portal, login, notifications, codes etc (permanent email recommended)
- Paid HEC LAT fee in ETC HEC Bank account according to their announcement or notification.
Bank account information is mentioned on announcement or notification.
Fee amount is different every time which also is mentioned in announcement or notification by HEC.
Every student requires separate email address and mobile number or else hec portal won’t accept
Who can Apply
1. Students who have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) or equivalent/grade 12 education.
2. Students who have appeared in the final examination of HSSC or equivalent/grade 12 education and are awaiting results.

Recommended Books of LAT
LAT has no set of books the can be recommended.
If you want to purchase a good book for LAT then Purchase the book that has been published in the same year within few month of LAT TEST date. Book should contain newest material that happened within that year. Government Announcements, International Updates, Islamic details, etc
HEC Bank Account Information
Test fee of Rs. 1000/- is to be deposited Online/ATM in the
Account No. 1742 7900 133401,
Account Title: Higher Education Commission,
Bank: Habib Bank Limited, Branch Code: 1742.
Bank Draft/Pay Order will not be accepted.
Applicants are required to send a copy of Fee Deposit Slip/ATM/online transfer through courier at the address Member’s House, HEC Sector H-8, Islamabad on or before the last date of registration.
Please mention your CNIC number at the backside of the Deposit Slip. The test fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.
LAT Test and applications in SAVE or INCOMPLETE mode will not be entertained.
Email/SMS will also be sent to registered applicants for test date, time and venue. While filling online application forms, candidates are required to provide valid email/mobile number on which they wish to receive official messages.
The original CNIC and a printout of Roll Number slip both will be required to enter the test centre on the test date. (Failure to present these two forms of IDs shall result in entry refusal).
Test Date for Student Registering in July 2021 Batch
The test will be held on August 8, 2021 tentatively.
Any change in test date will be communicated by HEC
Roll No Slip download.

Applicants, who have registered will be able to download their Roll Number Slip from http://etc.hec.gov.pk once intimated via email sent to them.
Details of Examination Center
The Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan is conducting Law Admission Test (LAT) for applicants desirous to get admission in five-year undergraduate LLB Degree Programme in HEC/PBC-recognised public and private sector universities/institutions and valid colleges affiliated with public sector universities in compliance with directions of the Honorable Supreme Court vide its Order dated March 6, 2018 and Judgement dated August 31, 2018 passed in C.P.134/2012.
